Job Duties and Qualifications

  • Individual contributor, with potential to lead multi-discipline petrotechnical team, to support the screening, evaluation and development of large-scale oil and gas field appraisal or development projects to be considered for investment or already contracted by Halliburton’s Integrated Asset Management (IAM) organization.
  • Responsible for screening prospective opportunities for attractiveness and robustness relative to the screening criteria of IAM, based on resource quality and potential.
  • For projects meeting investment criteria, generate conceptual field development plans (FDPs), with emphasis on development environments where HAL’s technology and prowess can improve recovery efficiency, increase production, and/or reduce development cost per UOP.
  • Ability to develop and apply advanced reservoir engineering techniques in support of the evaluation and development of oil and gas fields.
  • Will support prospect evaluation work by providing historical offset well performance evaluation (production decline curve analysis), determination of reservoir rock and fluid properties, deterministic as well as probabilistic in-place hydrocarbon volumetric calculations, static reservoir modeling, dynamic reservoir simulation, well test analysis, field development/re-development planning, recommendations for production enhancement, EUR/recovery efficiency analysis, forecasts of future production performance, preliminary economic analysis, and other work related to reservoir understanding/ development.
  • Additional responsibilities include implementing best practices to support the efficient and effective evaluation, well engineering, and field development planning work required as part of the project development process.
  • Provides effective coordination of technical resources working in other Halliburton Product Service Lines and Regions to support analyses of new opportunities and oversight of assets under development.
  • Requires undergraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering or other applicable Engineering disciplines, plus a minimum of 15 years of experience in oil and gas exploration and production roles which may include reservoir/production engineering, field development, unconventional reservoirs, technical staff supervision and management.
  • Arabic speaking preferred
