Emirates Nature in Association with WWF is a non-profit organisation and an environmental federal charity established to drive positive change in the United Arab Emirates to conserve the nation’s natural heritage. The organisation was founded in 2001 under the Honorary Founder and President of Emirates Nature-WWF, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Environment Agency‒Abu Dhabi, as a legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed’s vision for the UAE.
Project Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
Project implementation of the falaj restoration project and integration with membership products.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to conceptualize, plan, and design conservation projects.
- Effectively implement tasks assigned by the project manager as per agreed schedules.
- Assist the project manager in monitoring project expenses aligned with project workplans and budgets.
- Lead internal project progress meetings, update project timelines, support external meetings and keep Minutes of Meeting.
- Provide support in administering contracts of external consultants and vendors, as well as monitoring timely and high-quality submission of agreed deliverables and outputs.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks at various project stages.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, permits, and contracts.
- Generate regular progress reports for project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on the construction site and enforce safety protocols.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of scientific research related to the project.
- Organize logistics, conduct field surveys, record and analyze data.
- Contribute to the organization and engagement of local communities through majlises.
- Planning and implementation of tree planting activities.
- Support project manager in identifying partnerships and fundraising needs and in developing concept notes as required.
- Assist in delivering scientific outcomes and conducting field activities.
- Provide support on WWF Reporting and ENWWF Annual Report
Required qualifications
- 5-6 years’ experience in project supervision and implementation for environmental conservation
- Graduate degree in environmental science, conservation biology, agriculture, or relevant field
- Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable. High level of cultural sensitivity and awareness with ability to work in a multi-cultural setting.
- Proven knowledge and or experience in the non-profit sector, preferably of environmental non-government organizations.
