The purpose of this role

The Pharmacy Procurement Assistant is responsible for supporting the pharmacy department’s procurement activities, ensuring timely and accurate acquisition of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and equipment.

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining inventory levels, processing orders, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The Pharmacy Procurement Assistant works closely with the pharmacy team, suppliers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and supply chain efficiency.

Job related Tasks

  • Timely and accurate execution and follow-up of purchasing transactions
  • Ensuring timely and accurate invoice & PO processing
  • Adhere to policies and procedures are established related to purchasing transactions
  • Identifying clinical and non-clinical purchase requirements
  • Identifying procurement sources for clinical and non-clinical goods and services
  • Managing the item returns process

The Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge 

  • Proven working experience as a procurement executive/specialist in a healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Negotiations and networking
  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
