ROLE SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of the Direct Tax Assistant Manager role within our Properties business across all our Jurisdictions is to provide essential support in managing various aspects of direct taxation. This position plays a crucial role in assisting the Direct tax Manager to ensure accurate compliance with direct tax regulations, fostering a culture of tax responsibility, and contributing to the overall financial health of our Properties operations in Dubai. By participating in tax planning, preparing tax returns, conducting research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Direct Tax Assistant Manager helps optimize the company’s tax position and ensures adherence to applicable tax laws.
ROLE PROFILE
1. Tax Compliance and Reporting:
a. Assist in the accurate and timely preparation and submission of direct tax returns including Corporate Income Tax, adhering to UAE regulations.
b. Support the review of tax computations, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
2. Research and Analysis:
a. Stay updated on changes in UAE tax laws, regulations, and industry practices, and analyse their potential impact on the company’s tax position.
3. Documentation and Recordkeeping:
a. Assist in maintaining comprehensive tax records, documents, and supporting materials in line with regulatory requirements.
b. Ensure all tax-related documentation is organized and easily accessible for internal and external reviews.
4. Internal Collaboration:
a. Collaborate with finance, legal, and operational teams to provide tax insights and ensure that tax considerations are integrated into business decisions and projects.
b. Assist in conducting tax impact assessments for various business initiatives.
5. Tax Audits and Inquiries:
a. Support the preparation of information and documentation required for tax audits and inquiries from relevant authorities.
b. Collaborate with external auditors, legal advisors, and tax consultants during audit processes.
6. Compliance Monitoring:
a. Assist in the implementation of internal controls to ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is advantageous.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in direct tax compliance, preferably within the real estate industry or related sectors.
- Solid understanding of UAE tax laws, regulations, and practices related to direct taxation.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using tax software, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
