We are WSP – Join us and make your career future ready!

Think bigger scale. Think higher profile. Think ground-breaking. Join WSP, and you’ll be at the heart of an international collective of innovative thinkers, all dedicated to growing and sharing their expertise, working on projects that transform society for all of us.

WSP is currently searching for an accomplished and experienced professional to join our team as an Associate – Asset Transformation at our distinguished engineering consultancy. The successful candidate will assume a pivotal role in providing leadership to the rapidly developing focus on the transformation of existing assets, contributing to business development activities, and actively ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
We are specifically seeking a resourceful individual with a robust background in engineering consultancy and/or client representation, but also demonstrating substantial experience and understanding of a range of projects and roles across the industry. A minimum of 17 years of relevant and diverse experience is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in the GCC region.

Your new role, what’s involved?

Leadership and Strategic Oversight:

  • Identify, lead and guide the development of teams refocussing on existing assets, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for asset transformation projects.

Diverse Engineering Expertise:

  • Encourage and support the development of asset transformation expertise, fostering innovation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Review and endorse existing asset solution documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Business Development Support:

  • Seek to identify, incubate, consolidate and grow new service lines and revenue streams associated with existing assets and asset transformation. Foster innovation and the application of new and alternative solutions.

Project Management:

  • Manage and be accountable for asset transformation projects; with the ability to zoom in or out from macro to micro, as the projects proceed.
  • Draw in other WSP professionals to provide the best team, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Deliver with a strong practical sense, bringing reason and reality to bear on the outcomes.

Client Engagement:

  • Engage with professionals at all levels of the industry. In the role you may need to convince CEOs that your strategy should be implemented, and also tradespeople that your solution works. You will need to engage and garner the confidence of individuals within client teams at all levels.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a construction-related discipline; master’s is a plus.
  • A minimum of 17 years of experience in construction, with an engineering consultancy and/or client representation background, but also diversity.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to take on new and non-routine tasks – facing challenges where every project is different.
  • A curious and analytical mindset – the propensity to problem-solve and engage positively with challenges not previously encountered.
  • A measured and mature ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Experience in working with existing assets – particularly refurbishments, repurposing, renovation and/or solutioneering in a failure investigation.
  • Strong business development acumen with a track record of successful client engagement.
  • A working knowledge of Middle East codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience working in the GCC region.

Are you a collaborative and personable individual interested in working with all levels of the industry from CEO to craftsman to deliver the best and most practical solution to the client?
If you are a seasoned professional with a strong and diverse background in construction and possess the leadership skills required to contribute to the success of our consultancy, we encourage you to apply for this challenging and rewarding opportunity. Join us in truly shaping the future of existing asset projects and advancing the excellence of our engineering solutions.
