Overview of the role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Manager – Regional Controlling to support in overseeing the financial operations and controls of Al Futtaim Real Estate division. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing the budgeting and forecasting process for the holding companies, assisting with the implementation of strong financial controls, and managing the external audit process for the holding companies.
What will you do:
Responsible for:
Financial Reporting & Consolidation:
- Assist the Regional Financial Controller in preparing accurate and timely statutory and management financial reports for the Real Estate division (standalone and consolidated).
- Consolidate financial statements from various legal entities under IFRS guidelines.
- Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Support the reconciliation process for intercompany transactions.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of financial reporting systems and processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the Real Estate Holding Companies.
- Collaborate with business units to gather budget inputs and assumptions.
- Analyze historical data, industry trends, and market conditions to create realistic forecasts.
- Monitor variances between actual results and budget/forecast throughout the year.
- Prepare variance analysis reports and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Financial Controls & Risk Management:
- Assist the Regional Financial Controller in implementing and maintaining a robust financial control framework for the Real Estate division.
- Perform ongoing monitoring and testing of internal controls to ensure their effectiveness.
- Participate in the identification and mitigation of financial risks.
Process Optimization & Automation:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial reporting and consolidation processes.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement process automation solutions.
- Maintain user guides and documentation for financial reporting and budgeting processes.
External Audit Management:
- Coordinate with the external auditors throughout the audit process for the Real Estate Holding Companies.
- Prepare all necessary documentation and information for the audit.
- Respond to auditor inquiries in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Track and manage audit findings, ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Work with the Regional Financial Controller to develop and implement recommendations for improvement of internal controls identified during the audit.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist the Regional Financial Controller with other tasks as assigned.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting standards and regulations.
What equips you for the role:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
ACCA / CA or any other finance related degree
Minimum Experience and Knowledge:
- 3-5 years’ Experience in Financial Reporting, and audit management.
- Big 4 experience is a plus.
- Accounting qualification is a plus
- Previous experience within Real Estate business is a plus.
- Previous experience within Construction and/or Facilities Management business is a plus.
- Involvement in Financial IT systems implementation is a plus.
- Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.
