POSITION OBJECTIVE
The job holder will be responsible for tracking technological advancements, analyzing changes in market demand for the product group and developing new product lines in the area of private label development and specifying product design parameters and standards
DO — Key Responsibilities
1.
Product Design Budgeting
Prepare product design and development budget for approval
Ensure all design and development activities are carried out within budget
Develop product/packing material sourcing plans that ensure cost reduction
2.
Product Research
Identify consumer preferences and trends and translate them into styles and products that relates to their needs
Research global markets in order to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, etc
Gather information from Industry trade groups or through trade shows or market research
3.
Product Design
Define the product architecture and key steps in the process of product design and development
Participate in conceptual development of product lines (i.e., sell ideas/concepts and convince others to adopt course of action).
Ensure that product is consistent with market trends as well as relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.
Oversee brand clarity and parity to ensure consistency of brands across businesses.
Provide recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, new concepts, etc.
Provide insights regarding style and fit of product

People Management
Manage and support recruitment
Monitor staff welfare and facilitate complaint resolution
Set KRA’s for direct reports and conduct performance appraisal
Oversee staff deployment and drive motivation levels of the direct reportees
DISPLAY
QUALIFICATION
Basic Qualification / Education / Vocational Training
Fashion Diploma/Degree from a Fashion College/University of standing and repute like NIFT or Pearl
Advanced
Qualification / Certification / Specialist Training
Post Graduate degree in Business Administration
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Experience
9-10 years
Specific / Relevant Experience
6 years of design experience in a multi-category and format retail set up including atleast 3 years of management experience in heading and running a successful design studio
